Started as a manufacturer of conventional screed based UFH systems 10 years ago, Jupiter has developed an advanced range of non screed systems based on modular 30 mm high Gutex™ wood fibre or polystyrene panels. The 1 m x 0.5 m panels are pre channelled to accept 16 mm water pipes, and have a 1 mm aluminium diffusing plate on their top surface. The panels can be laid directly on existing timber floors, concrete slab or even beam and block therefore making them particularly suitable for application on timber upper floors. The Gutex™ panels also provide additional sound insulation. Once laid the Jupiter panels can directly accept laminated and solid wooden floors. In situations where carpet, linoleum or tiles are to be used, Jupiter have joined forces with Creaton, the German tile manufacturer, to manufacturer a Screed Replacement Tile (SRT). The SRT is a tongue and groove 20mm thick tile that is glued together on top of the Jupiter panels and acts as a load bearing screed. The major advantages of the SRT system is speed of laying, speed of curing (12 hours) and speed of heat transfer over normal screed. Typically Jupiter UFH provides approx. 100 W/m² when using the SRT system and heats up within minutes unlike screed systems. Naturally being a low temperature system (40º max.), the Jupiter can be run off a condensing boiler or a heat pump. SRT's come in various sizes and natural colours and can be used as a finished floor surface. This provides developers the opportunity to offer clients a heating system and finished floor with one product.
